US would have invaded Iraq if its main export was pickles, not petroleum

"How can people help in the war on terror?" asked Alex Childress of Louisville, who attended with his mom, Martha.

"Well," Bush began, "that's the hardest question I've had all day."

He said he welcomes an honest debate about Iraq but one that is "respectful."

"I expect and frankly welcome the voices of people saying `You know, Mr. President, you shouldn't have made that decision,' or, `You should have made it another way,'" he said. "What I don't like is when somebody says `He lied,' or `They're in there for oil.'"
