There are some very dodgy things going on in the upcoming regional elections in spain. Two parties have been illegalised, and Aznar flew to washington to talk to his amigo Jorge W... who promptly included Batasuna on the list of international terrorist groups. (Batasuna are the elected political wing of ETA). Many of their deputies left to join another party with some other left wing Basque types, the newly formed party was promptly illegalised, leaving ten towns in Navarra (another region and part of the Basque area) with no legal parties on the ellectoral list... they cannot vote on May 25th!

There is loads more stuff... some of it probably from better sources on the internet, and an interesting discussion page on the BBC website. "Does democracy mean that your vote must now be state approved?" Golda, Spain
